Petersen’s New Backyard Performed in Reidville, SC

This family in Reidville, SC sought to transform their limited backyard space into a functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor area. Although the property spans nearly an acre, the house occupies most of it, leaving only 0.15 acres as the backyard. Additionally, concerns about erosion and its potential impact on the foundation—which had already begun to show signs of compromise—presented further challenges.

Our team developed a comprehensive solution that not only protected the vulnerable portion of the property but also created an inviting space capable of accommodating 5-6 people. The project featured the construction of a two-tiered patio and walkway system, including a 13-foot retaining wall on the lower tier for the patio and an approximately 2.5-foot wall on the upper tier for the walkway. To ensure safety and enhance visual appeal, railings were installed around the entire perimeter. Moreover, low-voltage lighting was strategically integrated with two post-mounted fixtures and three hardscape lights embedded within the retaining wall, elevating both functionality and ambiance.
